This year my eleven year old son wants to host his friends for a Halloween party. Ever the consummate party girl I quickly agreed to his seemingly harmless request. Now I am faced with the reality of hosting a gang of pre-teen boys and some of my friends kids and neighbors thrown in for good measure. I think that for most of us, once you have kids all personal taste and style go out the window. It all starts with decorating the nursery and for almost 14 years now I have centered all decorating and creative ingenuity on the bedrooms of my children. Once they are old enough to make their own personal decorating decisions, I will finally be able to work on my own boudoir. This is a major item on my bucket list, to create a bedroom that is truly all about me. Luckily, my husband is not picky when it comes to decorating and gives me full authority in that department. If I could do it now this is how I would do it.

School has started and is in full swing now as we approach the middle of September, and with that comes the daily deluge of papers that come home with my kids every day . We can times that by three now that my youngest has started preschool and is assigned homework every night! (Really?) I know it’s hard to believe this but fall is in the air. Labor Day has come and gone and summer is officially over.
