Poul M. Volther, belonged to a generation of architects with solid roots in the very best of craft. As an exponent to functionalism he was against fads and aesthetic smartness and he loved the simple manufacture of fine materials. Poul M. Volther was a trained cabinet-maker and later he graduated from The School of Arts and Crafts.
As a teacher at The Danish School of Art and Design he has influenced hundreds of young designers' sense of craft quality. The Corona chair is without comparison his most famous design.
If George Jetson ever made vice president at Spacely Space Sprockets, this is the executive chair he would have wanted. This chair is as futuristic as they come. If you're a movie fan or music video addict, chances are good you've seen this chair before. Of course, if you have a penchant for tuning into the endless sessions of the EU Summit, you may have found the great heads of state in Europe reposing in these beauties in 2002. Suffice it to say that this ergonomic chair is a cosmic wonder. The four generously upholstered shells provide maximum comfort and back support. Supported by a durable stainless steel frame, they seem to float in space.
